Something Interesting:

Page history last edited by PBworks 4 years, 4 months ago

This page is a place for all of us to post something interesting, unexpected, or inspiring.

This is an informal page, a bit of an experiment to see how well we can build a shared resource.

For the World's Poor Children, This Computes: article by Wahington Post technology columnist Rob Pegoraro giving a favorable review to Intel's $225 laptop designed for schools in third world.  Whilej ust having a cheap laptop is far from "the answer" having powerful tools available to more people that are connected through more and more wireless networks opens possibilities.  - Dan

If you are running a clinical simulation center/clinical skills center, you probably want to capture encounters with digital video for later evaluation. There are basically 3 main companies that do this (listed, essentially, from most expensive/most complete, to least): B-Line Medical, EMS, and WebSP. The systems handle the capture, management, and distribution of video, as well as managing evaluation checklists, interstation questions etc.

Flexibilty being one of the hallmarks of the DLS2007 session, I wanted to provide a link to a wireless keyboard/mouse/presentation remote solution we are now using in some spaces at UNLV.  We've recently deployed these in AV spaces in our President's Office, and a multi-purpose conference room for our Vice Provost for Information Technology. - A J
